Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is a method of treatment for sleep apnea, that supplies a flow of air through a nasal or oronasal mask into the airway. This is used to prevent the airway from collapsing and causing obstruction during sleep. In many cases, CPAP therapy is the primary and most effective form of treating sleep apnea.
Who would benefit from CPAP?
Those who are diagnosed with sleep apnea, specifically obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
What is sleep apnea?
Sleep apnea is a breathing disorder in which the airway collapses during sleep. Obstructive sleep apnea is the most common form of sleep apnea. It occurs when there is partial or complete obstruction of the airway, allowing for a pause in breathing.
Cerebra does not sell CPAP equipment, however, if it is indicated on your reports that you could have sleep apnea, we can help get you in touch with a CPAP provider.
